San Angelo Police Need Help Identifying Tmart Robbery Suspects

San Angelo Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying two men who robbed Tmart, 1818 W. Beauregard, around 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 26, 2018.  

The suspects, who fled the location after a brief struggle with a store employee, were seen getting into a nearby gold-colored early 2000’s model Toyota Sequoia SUV driven by a female.  

Suspect and Driver Descriptions: 

Suspect 1: Black male, mid-twenties, approximately 5’06” – 5’08”, approximately 160 lbs., facial hair, wearing gray sweatpants, black and white shoes, black hat, and a navy blue shirt with “Texas” across the front. (See surveillance picture) 

Suspect 2: Black male, mid-twenties, approximately 5’06” – 5’08”, approximately 170 lbs., facial hair, wearing a white T-shirt and Jeans. (See surveillance picture) 

Driver: White female, large-build, blonde/highlighted mid-length hair, wearing a floral tank top. (See surveillance picture) 

The suspects were also seen inside the 7-11 near the Neighborhood Walmart before the robbery.

Police Searching for Driver who intentionally Rammed Victim’s Vehicle at Police Headquarters

San Angelo Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a driver who used his or her vehicle as a weapon during a recent assault. 

The suspect’s vehicle is described as a white-colored, short cab pickup truck, possibly a Toyota Tacoma, with a black grill guard, a tool box, and loud pipes.  

Shortly after midnight on March 21, 2018, the suspect chased the victim, who was driving an SUV, around Police Headquarters before using the truck to ram into the victim’s vehicle at a high rate of speed.

Street Crimes Division- Led Traffic Stop Yields Heroin, Arrest

Pursuant to an ongoing investigation into heroin trafficking within the city of San Angelo and outlying area, the Department’s Street Crimes Division developed information naming Edward H. Nunez, 52, to be in possession of heroin. 

On the evening of March 23, 2018, Investigators with Department’s Street Crimes Division and Anti-Crime Unit along with members of the Texas Department of Public Safety’s Criminal Investigations Division, received information that Nunez was traveling with the suspected narcotics in the 5500 block of Sherwood Way.  

Subsequent to a traffic stop, Nunez was located and the law enforcement team located and seized approximately forty-five (45) grams of suspected heroin. 

Nunez was arrested for First Degree Felony Manufacture Delivery of Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 and booked into the Tom Green County Jail.

Armed Felon from New Mexico Apprehended in North San Angelo Residence

March 25, 2018 — A 35-year-old man who was wanted on an extraditable Felony Arrest Warrant [Unlawful Possession of Firearm by Felon] out of Lea County, New Mexico was apprehended by San Angelo Police just before noon today. 

Early this morning, Police received information that the wanted subject, identified as Jose Angel Baeza, was hiding at a vacant residence located in the 300 block of E. 45th Street, armed with a gun. 

Initial responding Officers arrived and observed movement inside the house and subsequently established a safety perimeter and requested the Crisis Negotiations and S.W.A.T. Teams.  Members of the San Angelo Fire Department staged nearby in the event emergency medical response was needed.     

Shortly after 11:30 a.m., team members established communication with the Baeza and minutes later he surrendered without incident.  No one was injured during the field operation.    

Officers located and seized the reported firearm inside the residence.  Additional Federal charges are pending the outcome of this ongoing investigation.

Teen Sought in Recent Robbery Located During Traffic Stop, Armed with Handgun

On Thursday, March 22, 2018, Detectives with the San Angelo Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division received a District Court issued Directive to Apprehend for a local teen in reference to a recent aggravated robbery and assault involving a handgun.  

In a coordinated effort with the Department’s Anti-Crime Unit, Patrol Division, and K9 Unit, officers conducted surveillance of the suspect’s known whereabouts.  Pursuant to the surveillance, the suspect, a 16-year-old male, was located and apprehended during a traffic stop just after 12:00 a.m. this morning. 

The suspect was in possession of marijuana as well as a handgun and loaded magazines.  He was additionally charged with Unlawful Carrying Weapon and misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana.
