The hiring process begins by completing an application for employment with the City of San Angelo.
Application Deadline
Applications must be received by 5:00 p.m. on August 9, 2024 by the Human Resources Department located at 72 W. College Ave., Suite 201, San Angelo, TX 76903. Applications received after this date will not be able to test on August 16, 2024.
Registration: (Candidates should arrive early to allow for processing)

Written Examination:
The San Angelo Police Department Civil Service Examination will be administered on August 16, 2024 at the McNease Convention Center, 501 Rio Concho Dr., San Angelo, TX 76903 at 9:00 a.m.
NOTE: (Anyone arriving after the 09:00 start time will not be allowed to test)
An optional study guide and practice test for the Peace Officer Civil Service entrance exam can be obtained online at https://www.applytoserve.com/study for a small fee at your expense. Neither the study guide nor practice test is necessary to take or pass the Peace Officer Civil Service entrance exam. These tools are completely optional.
Physical Agility Test - Concept2 Rower Evaluation
Applicants that pass the written exam should be prepared to complete the physical agility exam the same day. Registration for the physical agility exam will start at 12:30 p.m. with the exam beginning at 1:00 p.m. Please dress in athletic attire.
The Concept2 Rower Evaluation consists of a 2000 meter row for time. The test consists of rowing a distance of 2000 meters on the Concept2Rowing Machine at a resistance setting of 5.
Based on current Department standards, police applicants must pass the fitness evaluation at 30% based on standardized age, weight, and gender norms.
