San Angelo, TX (October 14th, 2023, 8:59pm): One male is in custody after a vehicle pursuit that took place Saturday evening in the Southeast side of San Angelo. Forty-year-old Samuel Sutton was taken into custody and is facing multiple felony charges in connection to this incident.

An SAPD patrol officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a Dodge Ram pickup after the pickup nearly collided with the officer's patrol unit near the intersection of State Street and Paint Rock Road. The driver of the pickup failed to stop and led officers on an almost 10-minute vehicle pursuit in the Southeast part of town.

An officer with the SAPD’s Anti-Crime Unit was able to position himself in front of the pursuit and successfully deploy “Stop Sticks” in front of the suspect vehicle. The suspect vehicle drove over the “Stop Sticks” and this resulted in the deflation of the vehicle’s front left tire.

Due to the successful “Stop Stick” deployment, the pursuit safely ended near the intersection of Preusser and Emerick Street. Samuel was taken into custody and was charged with the below offenses:

  • Evading Arrest/Detention with a Motor Vehicle.
  • Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by Felon.
  • Parole Violation Warrant
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance PG1 >=1G<4G
  • Possession of Marijuana <2oz

There was no damage to city or private property during the course of this pursuit

San Angelo, TX (October 7th, 2023, 7:18pm): One male was taken into custody Saturday evening after a passerby observed him walking with multiple suspected firearms in the Southwest part of town.  Thirty-five-year-old Brady Brazeal was taken into custody for County Warrants, Failure to Identify (Fugitive from Justice,) and Burglary of a Habitation.

Officers were dispatched to 3600blk of Sunset Drive in reference to a “Subject with a Weapon” call for service. Officers arrived on scene and were able to locate Brazeal with what appeared to be multiple firearms in his possession. Brazeal complied with officer’s commands and dropped the suspected firearms on the ground before being detained. Officers learned that the suspected firearms were not real and that they were really pellet rifles. While speaking with officers, Brazeal gave false/fictitious identifying information as he knew he had active County Warrants for his arrest.
