Domestic Violence Investigation Leads to Arrest

On 1/5/23 around 7:20 pm, Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 500blk of East 29th in reference to a domestic disturbance. Information was obtained that the disturbance was between a male and female and that the male was possibly armed with a machete.

Several Officers responded and observed multiple signs inside of the residence that made them believe that an assault had taken place. The male (61yoa) and female (55 yoa) denied any confrontation, but it was learned that the female half had an active County Warrant for her arrest.

The female (Sandra Moore) was taken into custody for her County Warrant, and neither subject was charged with Assault Family Violence at this time. The incident was documented, and the Assault charge will be forwarded to the County Attorney’s Office.

Theft Investigation Leads to Arrest

On 12/28/22, Officers were dispatched to the 1800blk of Overhill Drive in reference to a theft of a trailer. It was learned that multiple pieces of equipment were located on the trailer prior to it being stolen. Officers documented the incident and enlisted the help of the public to help locate the trailer through a social media post.During the morning hours on 1/4/23, SAPD’s communications division received information regarding the whereabouts of the stolen trailer. Officers were then dispatched to the Unit Block of East 19th where they were able to locate the stolen trailer in the backyard of a residence. SAPD’s Criminal Investigations Division were contacted, and they arrived on the scene to further investigate the incident. The trailer was removed from the backyard of the residence, and it was learned from the Victim that multiple pieces of equipment were still missing from the trailer.

SAPD’s Anti-Crime and Gang Unit assisted with conducting surveillance on the residence in an attempt to locate the remaining stolen property. Officers received information that items were being removed from the rear of the residence and being placed into the back of a pickup truck. The truck was then observed leaving the residence at which point SAPD’s Patrol Division attempted to conduct a traffic stop on it. The Truck then fled the traffic stop and led officers on a short vehicle pursuit before returning back to the residence it had departed from. The suspect then led officers on a brief foot pursuit before being taken into custody by responding officers. The suspect was identified as Armando Villareal (46yoa) and it was learned that multiple pieces of the Victim’s stolen equipment (as well as other suspected stolen property) were located in the bed of the pickup truck that Villareal had fled from. Multiple pieces of property were then seized from the scene with the assistance of SAPD’s Crime Scene Division.

SAPD’s Criminal Investigations Division responded to the scene and ultimately charged Villareal with Theft of Property >= $30k<$100k, Evading Arrest/Detention in a Motor Vehicle, Evading Arrest/Detention on Foot with previous Convictions, and Multiple City Warrants.

The SAPD would like to thank the public for providing the information that ultimately helped us locate the stolen trailer/equipment as well as other possible stolen property.

Two Suspects Arrested from Aggravated Assault on East 13th Street

Just after 8:00 a.m. on November 11, 2022, San Angelo Police were dispatched to a residence located in the 300 block of East 13th Street for the report of a shooting. Officers arrived on scene and learned that a 30 year old male was suffering from two gunshot wounds to the face and shoulder area.

 

The preliminary investigation revealed that prior to the shooting; the residents of the household were in an altercation.

 

Officers secured the residence and both SAPD’s Criminal Investigations Division and Crime Scene Division arrived on scene to assist.

 

Tramarcia George (24 yoa) and Kyeshia Hornsby (28 yoa) were identified as suspects during the course of the investigation. The suspects were located in Shreveport, Louisiana and were transported and later booked into the Tom Green County Jail on 12/29/2022 for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

 

Additional charges may be filed pending the outcome of this ongoing investigation.

Suspect in Recent Mail Thefts

 Between October 31- December 4th, San Angelo Police Department Criminal Investigations Division Northside and Southside Detectives began investigating several recent package thefts, during the holiday season. Video evidence and tips provided by the public indicated these crimes were being committed by the same person. 

Thanks to persistence and teamwork, Detectives were able to arrest the suspect, 36-year-old Ethan Leonard, on multiple theft charges. 


Leonard was previously arrested for mail theft on December 9th. 

This case is a great example of teamwork and communication from all of those involved.

Additional charges may be forthcoming pending the outcome of this ongoing investigation.

Off-Duty SAPD Sergeant Arrested for Driving While Intoxicated

On Monday, December 26th at 2:47 am San Angelo Police were dispatched to the 4200 block of Sunset Drive for a single car motor vehicle accident. 

 

Upon Officers arrival contact was made with the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, identified as 48-year-old Cory Moore of SAPD.  Initial Officers then contacted an on duty SAPD supervisor and assistance was requested from the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).

 

At the conclusion of the DWI investigation by Texas DPS, Moore was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. 

 

Moore has been relieved of duty and placed on Administrative Assignment pending the outcome of the investigation.
