Homicide Investigation in Forth Concho Neighborhood

October 19, 2020 — This morning, officials with the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the San Angelo Police Department with the execution of two search warrants in reference to the disappearance of 23-year-old Selena Ann Bradley of San Angelo, who was last seen on Friday, October 16, 2020. 

This afternoon, members of the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office and San Angelo Police Department searched a commercial building located in the 1100 block of South Chadbourne Street as well as a residence located in the 100 block of Allen Street. 

During the search of the residence on Allen, investigators discovered Bradley deceased.  The cause and manner of death are pending an autopsy.  

This is now an active homicide investigation and a person of interest has been identified.

Teen Faces Murder Charges after Shooting in North San Angelo Neighborhood

October 18, 2020 — Arturo Garcia, 18, has been charged with Murder after an early-morning shooting investigation in the 2800 block of Pecan Street.

Police were initially dispatched to the location around 1:30 a.m. for the report of shots fired; however, the call was soon upgraded to a shooting. 

Responding officers located the victim, 19-year-old John Samuel Dagen of Brady, Texas, in a nearby alley suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.  Dagen was transported by ambulance to Shannon Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries. 

Officers who were in the neighborhood conducting burglary patrol located Garcia walking away from the scene. 

It was also discovered that a second shooting occurred at the residence.  Both investigations are ongoing and charges are forthcoming.

Evidence Shows Nissan Xterra as Suspect Vehicle in Deadly Hit and Run that Killed Elderly Man

Recently identified evidence from the September 28, 2020 fatality crash scene in the 1700 block of Upton Street indicates the suspect vehicle is a 2002-2004 Nissan Xterra.  If you know anyone who owns or operates this specified model (any color) and the vehicle has recent front-end damage, please contact Detective D. Welch at (325) 657-4308.

Street Crimes Division Bust Yields Nearly 2.5lbs Meth, Over 22.5K Cash

On Monday, September 28, 2020, Investigators with the San Angelo Police Department’s Street Crimes Division obtained Warrants of Arrest and Search for a San Angelo man believed to be trafficking narcotics from his residence. 

The warrants, issued by Justice of the Peace Susan Werner, named 22-year-old Anthony Durst to be in possession of narcotics at a residence located in the 5400 block of Ben Ficklin Road. 

Durst was located and detained during a traffic stop just prior to the execution of the search warrant where officers seized approximately two and one half (2.5) pounds of suspected Methamphetamine, approximately $22,500.00 in U.S. Currency, three firearms, and body armor.  

Durst and a female companion, identified as 22-year-old Paulina Vizcaino, have been charged with First Degree Felony Manufacture Delivery of Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1.  Additional charges may be forthcoming pending the outcome of this ongoing investigation. 

The Department’s Patrol Division and the Center for Tactical Medicine assisted with yesterday’s operation.

SAPD Searching for Hit and Run Driver who killed 87-year-old Man in Wheelchair

The San Angelo Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division is searching for a hit and run suspect that struck and killed an elderly San Angelo resident last night. 

On Monday, September 28, 2020, police were dispatched to the area of Upton Street and North Schroeder Avenue just before 9:00 p.m. for the report of a major motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian and an SUV. 

Upon arrival, officers discovered several bystanders assisting an unconscious elderly man who was lying in the roadway.  The man was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for treatment but later succumbed to his injuries.  The victim was identified as 87-year-old Jesse Hernandez. 

The preliminary investigation revealed that Hernandez was crossing the street on his motorized wheelchair when he was struck by a white in color, possibly 2010-2020 model, long/full-sized SUV.  The SUV reportedly fled west on Upton before turning north on North Marie Street.  The SUV will most likely have significant front-end damage.
