San Angelo Police are searching for a man who fled the scene of a Hit and Run crash in the 1500 block of Upton Street this morning.
At approximately 7:50 a.m., San Angelo Police were dispatched to the report of a major motor vehicle accident in the 1500 block of Upton Street. Upon arrival, officers located a 47-year-old female victim who had been struck by a vehicle. The woman was transported to Shannon Medical Center for treatment of incapacitating injuries. Her current condition is unknown.
Police learned the woman was traveling westbound on foot with the assistance of a walker when a vehicle that was traveling eastbound on Upton struck her.
After the car struck her, a male driver exited the vehicle and asked the woman not file charges or call police because he had a record and a family. The victim asked the man to go to a nearby apartment complex to call 911, but the man got back in his car and drove away. He was last seen traveling towards the Dun Bar East Motel on Pulliam Street.
The suspect was a white male in his mid-twenties, approximately 5?08? with shoulder-length light brown hair, and brown eyes. He was wearing a grey-colored T-shirt, blue jeans, and tan work boots.
The suspect's vehicle was described as a light-colored metallic 4-door passenger car, possibly a Lincoln with a Chevy emblem on the back. A witness also confirmed that although the vehicle had a Chevy emblem, the make and model resembled a Lincoln. The vehicle was missing a front license plate. The back license plate may have a ?7? in the middle and an ?8? towards the end. The vehicle may also have small dents above the front left headlight.
