October 3, 2017 — At approximately 9:00 this morning, San Angelo Police were dispatched to the area of North Bryant Boulevard and West 6th Street for the report of an unconscious person.
Officers arrived and located Edward Vigil, 52, of San Angelo, unresponsive on the ground near the overpass. Vigil had no vital signs and apparently died as a result of injuries he sustained from falling off the overpass. Justice of the Peace Eddie Howard responded to the location and formally pronounced Vigil deceased. Vigil’s next of kin was notified.
Investigators with the Department’s Criminal Investigations Division are conducting a follow up investigation. Although the circumstances around Vigil’s death have not been confirmed, an eyewitness told police they observed Vigil fall from the bridge. At this time, there are no signs of foul play.
