Man Arrested on Multiple Charges after Investigation at local Apartment Complex

A 21-year-old San Angelo man was arrested on multiple charges after he injured an Officer and fled an investigation at the Nueva Vista apartments Friday night. 

Just before 11:30 p.m. Friday, San Angelo Police were dispatched to the apartment complex located at 2401 N. Lillie for the report of a domestic dispute where a man reportedly kicked in the front door of a residence and a woman was heard screaming. 

The first Officer to arrive located a vehicle attempting to leave the parking lot and the vehicle’s driver matched the description of the suspect.     

The driver was detained and during the investigative stop Officers detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the man’s vehicle.  The man, later identified as Jadariun Kentral McCarthy, lied about his identity, resisted Officers, and fled on foot.  One Officer received minor injuries during the incident. 

Responding units were able to locate McCarthy after a brief foot chase and he was taken into custody without further incident.  

During a search of McCarthy’s vehicle, Officers located drug paraphernalia and a quantity of suspected marijuana, ecstasy, methamphetamine, and crack cocaine.  

McCarthy was transported to the Tom Green County Jail and charged with two counts of First Degree Felony Manufacture Delivery of Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, Manufacture Delivery of Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2 or 2-A >=400G, Possession of Marijuana <2OZ, Evading Arrest Detention, Fail to Identify Giving False/Fictitious Information, Assault on Public Servant, and warrants for Assault Causes Bodily Injury Family Violence and Grand Jury Indictment for Injury to Child/Elderly/Disabled Reckless Bodily Injury.  

The parties of the alleged domestic dispute were not located.
