Missing Person Case turns into Homicide Investigation

On 8/10/22, Eric Talton (31yoa) went missing from San Angelo, TX and his whereabouts were initially unknown. Detectives with SAPD’s Criminal Investigations Division conducted a preliminary investigation and learned that Talton’s disappearance appeared to be criminal in nature.

On 8/18/22, Kimble County Sheriff’s Office received a call for service regarding a body that was located in Junction, TX. The remains were suspected to belong to Talton and both the Texas Rangers and the SAPD’s Criminal Investigations Division responded to assist.

A Justice of the Peace from Kimble County requested an autopsy, and the remains were sent to Central Texas Autopsy in Lockhart, TX. The remains were tentatively identified as Talton through dental records and fingerprints. Results of the full autopsy are pending at this time.

This incident is still currently being investigated by the SAPD and additional information will be released at a later point in time.
