On 5/4/22 at 7:04pm, Officers with SAPD’s Gang Unit observed a wanted subject (Donavan Guzman 31yoa) in the parking lot of a local motel in the 1900blk of Sherwood Way.
Officers attempted to make contact with Guzman at which point he began to evade the officers on foot. Officers were able to quickly apprehend Guzman after a brief pursuit and take him into custody after receiving some resistance from him.
While trying to take Guzman into custody, one of the officers observed a female subject (Willie Lacy 48yoa) try to pull officers off of Guzman while they were on the ground. After Guzman was taken into custody, Lacy was arrested for Interference with Public Duties and was transported to the Tom Green County Jail.
Guzman was medically cleared at Shannon Medical Center for injuries sustained during the arrest and he was transported to the Tom Green County Jail for the charges below.
Guzman was charged with his Felony County Warrants, Evading Arrest/Detention, Resisting Arrest, and Two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1>=1G<4G.
No injuries to officers were reported during this incident.
