Detectives with the San Angelo Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division are investigating several shots fired calls, one that caused damage to a local elementary school.
On October 28, 2015, around 10:00 p.m., San Angelo Police were dispatched to the 700 block of N. Van Buren Street for the report of shots fired. Dispatch advised investigating Officers that a complainant heard multiple gunshots in the area.
Upon arrival, Police searched the roadway and located several spent shell casings from a handgun. Police did not locate any damage to property adjacent to the street and no one reported injuries at the time of this call.
Police returned to the 700 block of N. Van Buren for follow-up investigation. After canvassing the area, Officers discovered apparent damage to Austin Elementary School and recovered evidence of gunfire. The school was unoccupied at the time and no injuries were reported.
