At approximately 1:20 this morning, San Angelo Police conducted a traffic stop of a black 2014 Dodge Challenger for expired registration in the 100 block of W. Avenue G.
Police identified the driver as Noe Galindo Guerra, Jr., 26, and the passenger as Miguel A. Fernandez, 28, of San Angelo.
Through a records check, Guerra was confirmed to be driving without a valid driver’s license or insurance and he was placed under arrest.
Police observed a firearm on the floorboard where Fernandez had been seated and during a thorough search of the vehicle, Officers discovered a plastic bag that contained suspected narcotics underneath Fernandez’s seat. The bag’s contents field-tested positive for the presence of approximately 14 grams of methamphetamine.
The Department’s Criminal Investigations and Street Crimes Divisions were consulted during the investigation. At the conclusion, Guerra was charged with DWLI and Expired Registration. Fernandez was charged with Unlawful Possession of Firearm by Felon and Felony 2 Possession of Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1.
