On January 3, 2017, the San Angelo Police Department received a report of a sexual assault involving a 5-year-old female.
Investigators with the Department’s Criminal Investigations Division’s Child Crimes Unit conducted a follow-up investigation, which established probable cause to name 61-year-old Antonio SanJuan as the suspect. Investigators subsequently obtained an arrest warrant for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child. The warrant was issued by Justice of the Peace Judge Fred Buck.
At approximately 2:00 p.m. yesterday, San Angelo Police located and arrested SanJuan at his place of employment in the 2100 block of E. 37th Street.
SanJuan was transported to Police Headquarters for questioning. Following his interview, SanJuan was transported to the Tom Green County Jail where he is being held in lieu of $100,000.00 Surety Bond.
