Two vehicles collide on Houston Harte last night which results in a DWI investigation.
On December 16, 2014, at approximately 10:00 p.m., San Angelo Police responded to the 2300 block of Houston Harte Expressway for a two vehicle collision. Upon arrival, Officers located a black 2013 Hyundi Tucson and a 2015 Chevrolet Captiva, both off the roadway. Officers requested medical attention for both drivers and a single passenger. Patrol also requested additional assistance to investigate the crash from the SAPD Traffic Section.
According to the report, the driver of the Tucson, Nicole Archer (06/16/79), was traveling west on Houston Harte in the outside lane at a normal rate of speed. The driver of the Captiva, Megan Jensen (04/26/95), and passenger, Tyler Howe (01/27/85), were also west bound traveling at a high rate of speed. The Captiva collided with the Tucson from behind causing both vehicles to lose control. During the crash, Jensen was ejected from the vehicle. The Tucson came to rest to the right of the roadway near the shoulder. The Captiva came to rest in the left median. Jensen was listed as having incapacitating injuries. Archer and Howe were listed with non-incapacitating injuries. All involved were taken to Shannon Hospital.
During the traffic investigation Officers believed alcohol might be a factor in the collision. No charges have been filed at this time and a DWI investigation is ongoing. Jensen was also cited for traveling at an unsafe speed. No further information is available at this time.
