Several squares consisting of different colored and patterned fabric were recently sewn together with love in hopes of raising money for San Angelo's Family Shelter, ICD Bridges.
San Angelo Police Chief and ICD Vice President Tim Vasquez along with fellow ICD Board Members Jeri Slone, Marta Tafoya, and Martha Ibarra recently accepted a quilt made by Gail Ball, Janette Browder, LaFreda Holman, Dortha Gunter, and Shirley Mercer. The quilt will be a featured raffle item at a future fundraiser for the shelter.
ICD Bridges is a private, not-for-profit organization that offers temporary housing and support services to victims of domestic violence, as well as housing and developmental services to adults with intellectual disabilities.
Members of the Roadrunner Motorcycle Club also recently presented the Shelter with a check for $400, which will double considering the organization receives funding from the State that must be matched dollar for dollar.
The organization is feverishly working towards meeting one of its objectives? increased financial stability that will keep the shelter operational through the end of 2016. For information on how you can help, visit icdbridges.org
