Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrests
San Angelo Police locate bath salts and methamphetamine during a traffic stop Sunday evening. Two San Angelo residents have been arrested.
At approximately 11:00 p.m. Sunday, August 11, 2013, San Angelo police officers conducted a traffic stop on a 2004 Chevrolet Malibu in the 400 block of W Avenue T for Fail to Signal Lane Change. The vehicle was occupied by a male driver and female passenger.
During the traffic investigation, the male driver did not present a Driver’s License and stated a fake name for his identification. The driver's true identity was eventually confirmed to be Mark Flores (DOB 03-25-83) of San Angelo. He was placed under arrest for an outstanding Parole Warrant. During a search incident to his arrest, Flores was found to be in possession of a crystal-like substance that field-tested positive for Synthetic Cathinones (Bath Salts).
The female passenger was identified as Brooke C. Martinez (DOB 09-19-94) of San Angelo. Martinez was arrested for possession of a crystal-like substance that field-tested positive for Methamphetamine.
Flores was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 (< 1 g) and his outstanding Parole Violation Warrant. Martinez was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 (<1g).
Flores and Martinez were transported to the Tom Green County Jail without incident.
