On July 18th 2012, at approximately 7:30 a.m. San Angelo Police were dispatched to a residence in the Unit block of north Jackson in reference to a burglary in progress. A Witness had observed a subject exit the back of a residence in a hurried manner carrying a rifle case and a rifle. The Witness believed the residence was being burglarized. The Witness observed the Suspect enter a vehicle occupied by one other person and drive away.
The Witness notified Police and was able to provide a vehicle description and license plate. Police located Victim and confirmed that several firearms and ammunition had been taken from the residence.
Detectives located and conducted surveillance on the suspect vehicle. At the request of Detectives, a traffic stop was conducted in the Unit block of Goodfellow on the suspect vehicle by Officer Christopher Morris.
Investigation at the traffic stop led to the recovery of the firearms taken in the residential burglary on North Jackson and other property believed to have been stolen in other residential burglaries.
Rachael Martinez DOB 07/18/86, Raymond Martin Ramirez DOB 07/06/88, and Joe Angel Arispe 10/21/92 were arrested for Burglary of a Habitation. Investigations by Detectives Rodney Black, Det. Kelli Lajoie, and Sgt.Todd Dornhecker have linked the Suspects to 12 burglaries near the Santa Rita Area and also 6 forgeries. Firearms that were taken from the residence on North Jackson and also firearms stolen from a residence on North Jefferson were recovered.
Several pieces of jewelry were also located at local gold exchange stores. A Coach Purse, camera and other property linked to these burglaries were also recovered.
This investigation is ongoing and it is possible additional charges will be filed on the arrestees.
