Meth, Weapon Seized in Connection with Street Crimes Division Warrant Search at Local Mechanic Shop

June 19, 2018 – Today, members of the San Angelo Police Department’s Street Crimes Division executed a Search Warrant at 3719 N. Chadbourne.

The warrant, issued by County Judge Ben Nolen, named a 39-year-old San Angelo man to be in possession of Methamphetamine and associated items at the location.

As members of the Street Crimes Division converged on the property, an armed acquaintance of the suspect, later identified as Richard Delacruz, 24, alerted the suspect to the enforcement presence.

Despite Delacruz’s efforts, Investigators swiftly entered the building and detained several people, including the suspect, without incident.

Subsequent to the search, Investigators located and seized a quantity of suspected Methamphetamine and paraphernalia associated with narcotics trafficking.  The investigation is ongoing and the case will be referred for future indictment and prosecution.

Delacruz was arrested for Interfere with Public Duties and Unlawful Possession of Firearm by Felon.  Another subject, identified as Elias Campos, 31, was arrested for eight (8) outstanding City Warrants.

The Department’s K9 Unit, Center for Tactical Medicine, and San Angelo Fire Department assisted with today’s operation.
