On 12/26/21 around 2138hrs, Officers were dispatched to the 600blk of West 16th street in reference to a stabbing. Upon arrival, Officers located a 37 Year old female victim who was suffering from multiple stab wounds. Officers administered first aid to the female by applying a tourniquet to one of the female’s arms that was bleeding profusely. SAFD medics arrived on scene and transported the female to Shannon Medical Center where she received treatment for her injuries.
An investigation was conducted and it was learned that the suspect (Rashad Carter 32yoa) had stabbed the female victim multiple times during a domestic dispute and he had fled the scene prior to the arrival of Officers. SAPD’s Criminal Investigation Division and Crime Scene Division assisted with the investigation and an arrest warrant for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon was issued for Rashad. Officers attempted to locate Rashad during but were unable to locate him during the course of this investigation.
On 12/28/21 around 1635hrs, Officers were able to take Rashad into custody after he voluntarily turned himself in at the San Angelo Police Department. Rashad was then transported to the Tom Green County Jail without further incident.
