Single Vehicle Fatality Accident

On 1/24/22 around 10:23pm, Officers were dispatched to the 500blk of Veteran’s Memorial Drive in reference to a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, Officers located a red in color 2008 Dodge Avenger that had left the roadway and was submerged in the Concho River. Officers on scene entered into the river in an attempt to rescue the driver but were unable to reach the driver. SAFD arrived on scene and assisted with removing the driver/sole occupant from the vehicle and transported him to Shannon Medical Center where he was pronounced as deceased on 1/25/22. SAPD’s Motors Division and Criminal Investigations Division were requested on scene to assist with the investigation. It was learned that this was a single vehicle accident and that no other vehicle/persons were involved. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Paytum Morgan (19yoa) of San Angelo.
