Shots Fired Investigation Leads to Arrest

Just after 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2017, San Angelo Police were dispatched to the area of 19th and Main Streets for the report of shots fired.

Officers converged on the area and located a 28-year-old San Angelo man who was the intended victim along with several witnesses.  The Department’s Criminal Investigations Division also responded to the scene.

Through a lengthy investigation, it was determined Christopher A. Morua, 29, of San Angelo, shot a firearm from a silver, 1989 Buick towards the victim’s black, 2013 Chevrolet Impala while the victim was driving near 7th and Main.  The shooting allegedly happened as a result of a verbal argument between the pair.  The victim sped through neighboring streets to avoid being shot.  No one was injured during the incident.  The victim and Morua are acquaintances.

Police located Morua at a residence in the 1700 block of Main Street.  He was taken into custody without incident.  Following interview, Morua was charged with Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon and transported to the Tom Green County Jail.
