"Shots Fired" Call leads to arrest

On 7/22/22 around 9:06pm, Officers were dispatched to 610 West 29th St (Walmart) in reference to a “Shots Fired” call for service. Officers had learned that there were reports of shots fired inside of the store and that the suspects were last seen running away from the store through the parking lot. Officer arrived on scene, learned that nobody was injured inside of the store, and immediately established a perimeter in the area in an attempt to locate the suspects.

Officers later discovered, through watching surveillance footage, that the two suspects had fled the scene in a dark colored passenger car and were believed to no longer be in the area. It was also observed that the two suspects entered into Walmart and were seen walking to the section where the jewelry display was located. Officers observed one of the suspects produce a firearm and then fire a shot into the jewelry display case. Officers then observed one of the suspects remove the jewelry from the display case and then saw both of the suspects run out of the store.

SAPD’s Criminal Investigation Division arrived on scene to assist officers with the investigation. After further investigation, Officers were able to identify both suspects and were also able to locate the suspect’s vehicle in the 100blk of North Malone. Officers were able to detain one of the suspects at this location and he was identified as Brandon Lewis (19yoa.) Officers were then able to locate the second suspect (Identified as Andrew Reyna 21yoa) at a Northside Apartment Complex.

At the conclusion of the initial investigation, Andrew Reyna was arrested for Burglary of Building and Deadly Conduct. Brandon Lewis was released on scene pending further investigation. Additional Charges may be forthcoming as this incident is investigated further.

No citizens or officers were injured during the course of this incident or the investigation.
