San Angelo Woman Arrested for Weekend Robbery at Cavender’s

A San Angelo woman who robbed Cavender’s Western Outfitter this weekend is being held at the Tom Green County Jail on $75,000.00 Bond.

The investigation began just before noon Saturday, November 10, 2018, after Officers were dispatched to the Cavender’s Western Outfitter on Southwest Boulevard for the report of a theft in progress.

Upon arrival, Officers interviewed several witnesses and determined the incident was, in fact, an aggravated robbery after learning the suspect used a knife to injure a store employee during the suspect’s escape.  After causing injury to the employee, the suspect fled the scene driving a black Toyota Camry — but not before her license plate was recorded.  The injured employee did not require medical treatment.

Within hours of the initial investigation, police developed Valarie Mae Geuea as the suspect.  Less than ten hours later, Geuea was apprehended by members of the Department’s Anti-Crime Unit who had been surveilling Geuea and followed her to the McDonald’s located on Southwest Boulevard.  Geuea was taken into custody without incident and subsequently interviewed by detectives with the Department’s Criminal Investigations Division.  Police also located and seized a knife that is believed to have been used in the robbery.

Amended charges may be pending.  This investigation is ongoing.
