On October 25, 2015, just before 3:35 p.m., San Angelo Police were dispatched to the Walmart Supercenter located at 610 W. 29th Street for the report of an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and theft.

Once on scene, Police learned Walmart Loss Prevention staff observed a man and woman load items into a shopping cart and leave the store without paying.  When Loss Prevention staff attempted to follow and obtain a license plate, the man discarded the stolen items and threatened the employee at knifepoint.  The man and woman then fled the area in a vehicle driven by a third subject.  Walmart staff recovered the stolen items, which totaled over $300.00.  No injuries were reported.  The incident was caught on surveillance camera.

During a follow-up investigation, Criminal Investigations Detective Lynn Dye obtained information about the location of the get-a-way vehicle and identity of the male and female suspects.  Subsequent to his investigation, Det. Dye obtained an arrest warrant for George Delacruz, Jr. (DOB 7-02-75).  Delacruz was located on October 27 at a residence in the 2100 block of Juanita Avenue and taken into custody for questioning.
