Press Release #050715(01)-San Angelo Man Arrested for Aggravated Assault after Stand-off with Police

On May 6, 2015 at approximately 11:35 am, San Angelo Police responded to a residence in the 2300 block of Senisa Trail for subject with a weapon.  It was learned this was also a domestic disturbance.

 

When Police arrived, the male subject was in front of the residence, but he went inside after Officers attempted to make contact with him.  The male subject was later identified as Anastacio Govea DOB 10-08-1979.  Officers made contact with the 33 year old Hispanic female victim in the front of the residence.  The victim reported Govea pointed a handgun at her, threatened to kill her, and told her if the Police responded they would have to shoot him.

 

A perimeter was established around the residence and the Crisis Negotiation Team and SWAT team were dispatched to the location.  Officers attempted to make contact with Govea for several hours without making contact.  At approximately 4:00 pm, Govea surrendered himself to Police and was taken into custody without incident. 

 

Govea was transported to the Tom Green County Jail and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon Family Violence.
