Press Release # 040615(04) - SAPD Retirement and Promotion Ceremony

The San Angelo Police Department will be honoring Sgt John Rodriguez with a retirement ceremony on Tuesday April 7, 2015 at 3:00 pm at the Police Department.

 

Sgt John Rodriguez was hired by the San Angelo Police Department on January 24, 1983.  Prior to working for the SAPD, Sgt Rodriguez was an Officer for the El Paso Community College and the San Angelo Regional Airport.  During his career at SAPD, Sgt Rodriguez worked on patrol and in the traffic section.  Sgt Rodriguez was also a D.A.R.E. and G.R.E.A.T. instructor.  Sgt Rodriguez was made an acting Sergeant in November 2009 and promoted to the rank of Sergeant in March of 2010.  Sgt Rodriguez has a total 34 years and 9 months as a Police Officer, with 32 years and 2 months of that time with the San Angelo Police Department.  Sgt Rodriguez has 3,780 hours of training and a Master Peace Officer License.

 

Following the retirement ceremony, the San Angelo Police Department will be conducting a promotional ceremony for Officer Ali Shah-Tirmizi at 3:15 pm.  Officer Shah will be promoted to the rank of Sergeant.

 

Officer Ali Shah-Tirmizi was hired by the San Angelo Police Department on April 20, 2009.  Officer Shah transferred to the Criminal Investigation Division as a Detective on April 22, 2012.  On March 22, 2015, Officer Shah transferred back to the Patrol Division as an Acting Sergeant.  Officer Shah has 1,727 training hours and holds a Basic Peace Officer License.
