Police Arrest One, Seek Second in Connection to Shooting on West 18th

Detectives with the San Angelo Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division are investigating a shooting that occurred around midnight in the 600 block of West 18th Street. 

Officers were dispatched around 12:06 a.m. for the report of a shooting victim.  Upon arrival, police located a man lying in the doorway of a residence, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.  San Angelo Fire Department personnel arrived and assessed the man’s injuries before transporting him to a nearby hospital for treatment.  The victim, age 50, is reportedly in stable condition. 

Further investigation revealed that the victim was shot during a robbery carried out by two acquaintances.  One of the suspects, identified as 22-year-old Tyler A. Ragland, was located by members of the Department’s Anti-Crime Unit (ACU).  Following his interview with investigators, Ragland was arrested for Aggravated Robbery and an outstanding Felony Arrest Warrant for Possession Controlled Substance and transported to the Tom Green County Jail.
