Traffic Signal down at the intersection of Abe and Beauregard

San Angelo, Texas [August 7, 2012] ? Workers will soon begin repairing the traffic light at Abe

and Beauregard after a vehicle crash recently knocked down the pole and control cabinet.

A signal contractor working for the City has ordered the parts necessary to replace the pole and

cabinet, and repairs are scheduled to begin Thursday or Friday.

The crash occurred on July 29 and crews were able to restore temporary power to the remaining

signals, allowing them to place the red lights in a flash pattern. They also added a temporary stop

sign to create an all-way stop at this intersection, which will remain in place until a new signal

pole and control cabinet are installed.

A permanent electrical connection is scheduled to be in place on Wednesday, which will help

alleviate the power failure issues with the temporary solar system. The new pole and control

cabinet should be operational within 18 to 21 days after repairs begin.

Drivers should use caution when approaching this intersection and obey posted traffic signs.

###
