Press Release #120414(03) Citizens Aid Police in Burglary Arrests

Two San Angelo men are behind bars for burglarizing a residence thanks to citizens who assisted responding officers in locating the suspects.

 

At approximately 5:45 p.m. yesterday, San Angelo Police responded to a burglary call at the Bellagio Apartments located in the 2500 block of Sweetbriar Dr.  Officers arrived and witnesses gave descriptions of the suspects and gave their last known direction of travel.   Officer's quickly located one of the suspects, Favian Martinez (03/20/96), walking in the 2500 block of Lindenwood and placed him in custody. 

 

The second suspect was also on foot and was being followed by a witness to the burglary.  The witness called dispatch and gave the location of the suspect.  Officers arrived and arrested the second suspect, Sean Ricks (11/21/94), in the 2600 block of Hemlock.   Items found on Ricks were confirmed stolen from the apartment.

 

Ricks and Martinez were charged with Burglary of a Habitation and transported to the Tom Green County Jail.  Both Ricks and Martinez were not cooperative at the jail and became combative towards the transporting officers and jailers.  Both were subsequently charged with Resisting Arrest or Search.

 

This incident is still under investigation and no further information is available at this time.

Press Release #120114(01) Update to Fiddlestrings Stabbing

A 32 year old San Angelo man was arrested today on charges of aggravated assault.  The charges are related to the stabbing which took place at Fiddlestrings Sports Bar last Wednesday morning.

 

San Angelo Police Detectives developed information relating to the suspect and a warrant was obtained for the assault.  At approximately 1:00 pm today, San Angelo Police Special Operations Detectives located the suspect driving on the east side of San Angelo.  The suspect, Roy Chavarria Jr. (05/13/82) was stopped and arrested for the felony Aggravated Assault warrant.   Chavarria was transported to the Tom Green County Jail without incident.

Press Release #111014(03) K-9 Track Leads to Arrest

A 30-year-old San Angelo woman was arrested by a Police K9 after evading on foot from a traffic stop.

 

On Saturday, 11/08/2014, Officer Garrett conducted a traffic stop in the unit block of E. Avenue M.  As the driver pulled to the right side of the road, the passenger exited the vehicle and fled on foot.  The passenger, Michelle Perez (11/23/83), was wanted for a felony theft warrant.  As Officer Garrett stayed with the vehicle, a perimeter was established.  K-9 Officer Gesch and his dog, ?Duke?, arrived on scene and began the track.  A short time later, Duke indicated he had located Perez and Officer Gesch found her hiding behind a storage shed in the 1700 block of S. Chadbourne St.  

Perez was arrested without incident for Evading and the warrant and was transported to the Tom Green County Jail.

Press Release 111014(02)-Police Investigate Animal Cruelty at Coliseum

Detectives with the San Angelo Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division are investigating an incident of animal cruelty that occurred during the weekend of November 8-9, 2014, at the Foster Communications Coliseum, 50 E. 43rd. 

 

It was reported that an unknown person(s) entered a barn on the property, saddled a horse, then used the horse to possibly rope steer that were located within the same barn. The horse and steer were injured during this incident.  The barn is located east of the Coliseum.  (Refer to photograph)

Press Release #110514(01)-Police Investigate Aggravated Robbery at Local Restaurant

San Angelo Police are searching for at least two men who robbed Golden Chick Restaurant employees at gunpoint last night.

 

On November 4, 2014, just after 10:00 p.m., San Angelo Police were dispatched to the Golden Chick Restaurant located at 2602 Sherwood Way for the report of a robbery.

 

Upon arrival, police spoke with employees who said two men entered the restaurant and demanded money from them at gunpoint.  The suspects collected an unspecified amount of cash before fleeing the restaurant.  The employees reported no injuries and no customers were present during the incident.  The suspects wore dark clothing and had their faces covered by bandanas.   

 

Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division also responded to investigate the incident.  At this time, no arrests have been made in connection with this robbery.
