Man Injured in Shooting at Residence in North San Angelo

October 11, 2017 — The San Angelo Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division is searching for a suspect who shot a 30-year-old San Angelo man at a residence in the 500 block of E. 28th Street. 

Police were dispatched to the residence around 12:21 a.m. for the report of a shooting victim.  Upon arrival San Angelo Police located the victim on the front porch, bleeding from an apparent gunshot wound to the leg.  An Officer applied a Department issued tourniquet to the man’s leg until San Angelo Fire Department medics arrived and assumed medical care.  The victim was transported to Shannon Medical Center for treatment.  The victim’s injuries are said to be non-life threatening.  

The unknown suspect reportedly fled the scene prior to Police arrival.  Police believe the suspect may be a Hispanic male in his teens.

Street Crimes Division Narcotics Arrests on Jones Street

October 10, 2017 — Detectives with the San Angelo Police Department’s Street Crimes Division (SCD) along with members of the Department’s Special Weapons And Tactics Team (SWAT) and K-9 Unit executed a Search and Arrest Warrant at a residence in the 700 block of Jones Street. 

The warrant, issued by Justice of the Peace Fred Buck, named 27-year-old Adriana Marie Cruz to be in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine at the residence.  Cruz was located at the residence along with 26-year-old Jacob Anthony Gonzales and 27-year-old Jason Michael Lujan. 

Pursuant to the field investigation and search of the residence, Investigators located and seized approximately four (4) ounces of suspected methamphetamine, four (4) firearms, a quantity of marijuana, paraphernalia associated with narcotics trafficking, and approximately $3,600 in U.S. Currency. 

Cruz and Gonzales were arrested for First Degree Felony Manufacture Delivery of Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1.  Lujan was arrested for State Jail Felony Possession of Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1.  The trio was transported to the Tom Green County Jail without incident. 

Members of the Department’s Patrol and Criminal Investigations Division and The Center for Tactical Medicine assisted with today’s operation.

Man Injured in Shooting at Residence in Northwest San Angelo

A 32-year-old San Angelo man was air-lifted to a San Antonio hospital early this morning after he was shot in the leg by an acquaintance at a residence in the 3200 block of North Street. 

Officers were dispatched to the residence around 2:20 a.m. for the report of a shooting.  Upon arrival, they located the victim who was sitting in the doorway, bleeding from his leg.  Officers applied a tourniquet until medics arrived and assumed first aid measures.  The victim was transported to Shannon Medical Center and later flown to San Antonio.  His current condition and extent of injuries is unknown. 

Officers located the suspect, identified as Joshua Henry, in a bedroom.  Detectives with the Department’s Criminal Investigations Division responded to the scene along with Crime Scene Investigations.  The weapon used was also located at the residence. 

Subsequent to the field investigation it was learned the victim, who had been previously staying with Henry, came to the residence to retrieve some of his belongings.  Henry told the victim to leave seconds before he shot the victim in the leg. 

Henry was charged with Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon and transported to the Tom Green County Jail.  

This is an ongoing investigation.

Police Arrest Wanted Suspect at Residence on Lillie

This morning, San Angelo Police received a tip about the possible whereabouts of Martin Brandon Pena, 20, of San Angelo.  Pena was wanted on an outstanding warrant for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. 

This afternoon, members of the San Angelo Police Department’s Street Crimes and Criminal Investigations Divisions converged on an apartment located in the 2400 block of North Lillie Street where Pena was believed to be.  Pena was located inside and taken into custody without incident. 

Pena was arrested for his warrant and additionally charged with State Jail Felony Possession of Controlled Substance Penalty Group I after Investigators located cocaine on his person. 

The Department’s Patrol Division assisted with this afternoon’s apprehension.

Street Crimes Division Finds Modified Shotgun, Meth on East 20th Street

On Wednesday, October 4, 2017, Detectives with the San Angelo Police Department’s Street Crimes Division served a search warrant at a residence in the unit block of East 20th Street.  

The warrant, issued by Justice of the Peace Eddie Howard, named 36-year-old Viviana Rivas of San Angelo to be in possession of methamphetamine at the residence.  

During a search, Investigators located and seized a small amount of suspected methamphetamine, paraphernalia associated with narcotics trafficking, and a sawed-off shotgun. 

Rivas was charged with State Jail Felony Possession of Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 and Unlawful Possession of Firearm by Felon before her transport to the Tom Green County Jail. 

The Department’s K-9 Unit and Center for Tactical Medicine assisted with today’s operation.
